New Defender Tailgate Organiser Panel

The Out There Equipped Tailgate Organiser Panel for the New Defender transforms unused space into a clean, modular storage system without drilling, or permanently modifying your vehicle.

Designed specifically for the 2020 onwards Defender, it follows the shape and contours of the OEM tailgate trim for a precise integrated fit while maintaining full access to the factory storage compartments and emergency triangle hatch.

Like all Out There Equipped storage systems, the panel is fully compatible with our growing range of accessories, organisers and mounts. But this panel introduces something new.

A mounting system designed entirely around usability.

Purpose Designed Mounting Brackets

Most tailgate panels rely on spacers and longer bolts. That approach works, but fitting can be awkward for people who are not used to modifying their cars, and often requires trim removal.

We wanted better.

So we engineered a completely bespoke mounting bracket system specifically for the New Defender.

The textured black brackets recess perfectly into the factory trim bolt locations and are shaped to match the contours of the original tailgate panel. This keeps the panel sitting level and properly aligned once installed.

The result is a mounting system that feels engineered as part of the vehicle, not adapted to it.

No Drilling Required

Unlike many storage panel systems, this design does not require drilling into the OEM trim panel.

The panel mounts directly to the brackets, not the trim itself.

That means:

• No permanent modification
• No damaged trim panels
• No exposed holes if removed
• No worries when returning leased or financed vehicles

The original factory bolts are also reused during installation, meaning owners can return the vehicle completely back to standard at any time, in minutes.

Designed Around The Vehicle

This panel was developed specifically around the New Defender interior rather than adapting an existing design.

The overall size mirrors the tailgate trim shape closely for a clean OEM-style appearance while still leaving the factory storage compartments fully usable.

In fact, because the panel sits slightly proud on its mounting brackets, the lower storage pockets gain additional usable depth compared to standard.

The emergency warning triangle hatch remains fully functional and unobstructed.

Every detail was considered.

OEM Inspired Hardware

Small details matter.

The supplied stainless Torx hardware was intentionally chosen to visually match the factory trim hardware already used throughout the Defender interior.

We also include an additional set of black stainless Torx bolts for owners with black hardware packages and special editions such as the OCTA.

At the centre of the panel sits the signature Out There Equipped badge featuring our black and gold branding which pairs perfectly with the modern Defender interior and the technical grid styling found throughout the OCTA design language.

Simply remove four factory Torx bolts, to fit the brackets, then attach the panel.

Even better, the brackets remain fitted to the vehicle, allowing the panel itself to be removed in seconds removing just four bolts.

Installation

Fitting can be completed in minutes using only a T30 Torx bit.

Installation Steps

1. Remove the four factory Torx bolts from the tailgate trim panel
2. Position the left and right brackets with the arrows facing upward
3. Reinstall and tighten the factory bolts
4. Attach the panel to the brackets using the supplied hardware

No drilling. No trim removal. No specialist tools.
